Pormal na nagbitiw bilang miyembro ng Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) si Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia ngayong Martes, Mayo 28.
Ang pagbibitiw ni Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia sa PDP-Laban ay ipinarating nito sa pamamagitan ng isang liham sa pangulo ng partido na si Palawang 2nd District Rep. Jose Ch. ‘Pepito’ Alvarez.
Idinahilan ni Garcia sa kanyang pagbibitiw ang umiinit na iringan sa pagitan niya at ilang miyembro ng PDP-Laban, partikular ang suspendidong alkalde ng Cebu City na si Michael Rama.
“Specifically, the complaint filed against me by Mayor Michael Rama, vice president for Visayas, with the Office of the President, has created an irreconcilable conflict,” sinabi ni Garcia kay Alvarez.
